The laboratory specializes in designing and developing innovative platforms and software components that integrate AI solutions derived from the Centre's research. Our expertise spans from ideation to the implementation of advanced solutions. The unit’s team, composed of technologists, developers, and web designers, is dedicated to creating software that addresses current needs while anticipating future challenges in healthcare.
DHILab is capable of managing robust infrastructures for deploying these platforms in real clinical settings, as well as running proof-of-concepts (POC) solutions and prototype experiments across various projects involving the center's units. We also support the establishment of living labs to test and evaluate the outcomes of AI and intervention research.
Ability to analyse and understand the medical domain to translate requests into functional and non-functional requirements, as well as component specifications for the implemented architectures.
Analysis and design of modular, scalable architectures that enable easy configuration in specific environments, seamless addition of new functionalities, and smooth integration with existing systems.
Design of backend and frontend components, defining their specifications based on functional and non-functional requirements to ensure seamless interoperability and optimal performance.
Development of applications and components using state-of-the-art technologies. Our commitment to continuous innovation enables us to create highly effective, secure, and scalable solutions.
Data security and regulatory compliance are at the core of our development process. We implement authentication, authorization, and encryption techniques that adhere to strict data protection and governance guidelines (GDPR), ensuring the highest level of security for sensitive user information.
Design, deployment, and management of cloud solutions, including component sizing (AKS services, databases), to support real-world experiments of innovative research-based service applications, in line with project requirements.
